Hall of Residence Rules and Regulations
I. Admissions

  • Application for admission to the Hall of Residence must be made in the prescribed form only. A student admitted to the college is not automatically eligible to become a member of the Hall of Residence.
  • Every student, before being admitted to the Hall of Residence shall give an undertaking in writing that he will abide by the rules and regulations of the Hall of Residence in force from time to time. These rules and regulations are binding on all residents.
  • Before admission, each student has to pay Hall of Residence fees which includes room rent mess fees, washing fees and caution deposit, which may be revised from time to time.
  • Every year, immediately after the final exam, students have to vacate the Hall of Residence and clear the breakage dues, if any. If there is any pending dues carried out to the next academic year, penalty will be levied as per the prevailing norms.
II. Mess

  • Food will be served to the Hall of Residence by the caterers entrusted with the responsibility of running the mess of the Hall of Residence according to the menu and the rates prescribed by the administration as per the terms of the contract, or food will be served by the management as per the menu and rates fixed by the management from time to time.
  • Mess timings
  • Breakfast : 7:30 am - 8:30 am
    Lunch   12:40 pm - 1:30 pm
    Evening Snacks : 5:15 pm - 6:00 pm
    Dinner   7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
    Study Timing (Boys) : 6:30 pm- 8:00 pm & 9:00 pm -10:00 pm
    Study Timing (Girls)   6:30 pm - 7:30 pm & 8:30 pm -10:00 pm

    'Timings will be staggered between I year and other years for administrative Convenience and students' welfare.

  • During study hours, the inmates should be present in their allotted rooms.
  • Entry into the hostel kitchen is strictly prohibited for the students.
  • Members should not demand any special service from the cook or other servants.
  • Visitors are permitted to meet their wards only during Visiting hours.

    Visiting hours

    • 5.00 pm - 6.30 pm during working days
    • 10.00 am - 6.00 pm during holidays.
  • No guest is allowed to stay in the Hall of Residence without prior permission from the Chief Warden / Warden.
  • Anyone falling sick is advised to inform Deputy Warden for necessary action. Inmates taking their own treatment without the knowledge of Deputy Warden should do at their own risk. Cost of the medical charges incurred for the inmates taking treatment through management must be reimbursed within one month by the students.
  • All inmates shall return to students residence premises by 6.30 pm Roll call will be taken around 7.00 pm for boys and girls every day.
  • On Sundays, students are permitted to go for outing from 9.00 am to 6.30 pm Those who wish to have their lunch in the mess on Sundays shall inform Deputy Warden on the previous day night.
  • In the common room where TV and other appliance are available, students should conduct themselves in an orderly manner.
  • Students can be away from the Hall of Residence (going to native, going to local guardians place) only with prior permission of the Warden/Deputy Warden.
  • Consumption of electricity should be minimized. The inmates should switch off fans & tubelights whenever moving out of the room.
II. Discipline

  • Every student in the Hall of Residence is expected to maintain strict discipline inside and outside the campus and uphold dignity of the Hall of Residence and the institution.
  • Shouting, whistling or causing disturbance in the Hall of Residence will be treated as breach of discipline.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited. Law breakers will be severely punished. Any student found to have consumed intoxicants / narcotics will be dismissed from the Hall of Residence immediately without any enquiry.
  • The inmates must refrain from taking part in anti-social activity.
  • The inmates should not involve themselves in any political activity.
  • The inmates should not convene any meeting within the Hall of Residence or outside without the written permission of the Chief Warden and inmates are not allowed to display any notice without Chief Warden's permission.
  • Abnormal activities of any nature causing disturbance to neighbour should not be carried out in the rooms.
  • The inmates should not nail on the walls for hanging their cloth & posters.
  • The inmates should not remain in the Hall of Residence during the working hours/at other time when the presence is expected in the institution, except with the permission of the Warden / Deputy Warden based on genuine reason.
  • The inmates shall not stay away from Hall of Residence after working hours or on holidays without the permission of the Chief Warden/ Deputy Warden.
  • Day scholars are not permitted to enter the Hall of Residence.
  • Students shall be permitted to go out on outgoing day only with the permission of the Deputy Warden.
  • Visitors will be permitted inside Hall of Residence up to 6.30 pm for girls and 7.00 pm for boys, after obtaining proper prior permission from the Deputy Warden. If anyone is present after specified time without permission, action will be taken against the boarder in whose room the person is found.
  • Audio system, computer and other electrical appliances shall be used only with prior permission of the warden. Terms and conditions for the use of such appliance will be stipulated from time to time. Audio & Video system including Walkman shall not be played after 8.30 pm.
  • . The inmates should treat others as their fellow brothers irrespective of their caste, creed and religion. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited. It is to be noted that ragging / hurting junior students by word or deed will attract punishment including expulsion from the hostel and the college.
  • Any student who is expelled from the college will automatically cease to be an inmate of the students' residence forthwith.

  • Keep the room doors open during the study hours.
  • Group study is not encouraged during the study hours.
  • Room once allotted will not be changed on any account. Students should not change the rooms themselves.
  • Outdoor games like cricket, volleyball etc.,are not encouraged inside Hall of Residence building.
  • Any matter not covered by the above rules be decided by the chief Warden in consultation with the Chairman. The chief warden is vested with full powers to expel a student from the students' residence, if his/her presence is considered detrimental to the conducive atmosphere of the Hall of Residence / Institution. Before taking this action he will get the prior permission of the chairman.
  • In case of any complaints regarding housekeeping, register it in the notebook available with the residential warden.
  • Students not obeying the above rules will be immediately expelled from the Hall of Residence. No refund request will be entertained.
